Walking Through Proverbs Continued…
Welcome back! 😃 I apologize for the delay. We will continue our walk through Proverbs together. What a beautiful spring to come. I am just so excited about this weather. How about you all? 😆 It’s still chilly, but I can feel that fresh new air blowing in with the scent of sweetness. Oh Yes! This is the day the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it! Perfect day to discuss the word together. Let us begin!
Opening Prayer
God, we come to you today to help us not to lean to our own understanding, but to Yours. We ask that You cover us in our study and guide us. Let all be known that we, your children, must know. So, that we will be with You in the end times and far from the enemy. As for us, we believe in the one and only true God. Who was, Who is, and Who’s to come.
In Jesus Name. Amen.
Proverbs 1:8-19
Please take out your Bibles and read Proverbs 1:8-19 before reading further. Section left to discuss in Chapter 1 of Proverbs (as in the Bible)…The Call of Wisdom.
The Enticement of Sinners
Proverbs 1:8-19 – Walk The Narrow Path
Verses 1:8-9 ~ Hear your father’s instructions and listen to your mother’s teachings. They will be a garland for your head and pendants for your neck. Listen to God and his instructions. Learn from the word of God and don’t stray away from them. Living by the word of God… LIVING! Will give you a glow you could never achieve by putting on makeup, new clothing… etc. Your inside should always shine brighter than anything else. Beauty comes from within… so, nurture it.
Verses 1:10-16 ~ If sinners ask you to do as they do… your reply should always be NO! Can’t push this enough. It’s not about how many friends you have or how lit your weekend/week was. Try to help your neighbor become “a better them” by living by example. You have to be very careful when it comes to mixing with certain crowds because it can be very hard to break apart from them in the future. Spirits are real and they like latching on to people, causing more sin and mischief. I always say, “Flesh is easily possessed”. Our battle is not with flesh and blood, but with the enemy. The enemy will send evil spirits of all sorts… lust, jealousy, drunkenness, anger, sadness, etc. Once a spirit catches hold of you, you will have to fast, pray, and ask for forgiveness. That’s extra issues you could avoid. You have free will and can control what you want to do. Make your life easier. Do it for yourself that you may have peace and a clear mind to live. God put you in the earth that you may enjoy and dwell in it. He gave humans free rein and the upper hand over our enemy. Just as you like to exercise your rights in politics… exercise your rights God granted you. Hold fast to your light in you and keep yourself clean and in the Word of God. Don’t mix with the path of evil.
Verse 1:17-19 ~ Verse 17 translate two ways for me. The first way is: In their own pride and for their own gain, they go after anyone or thing that crosses paths with them. The second is: They are trying to gain from anyone or anything without knowing (truly) they will not yield anything from it. They wait for their own blood… their own downfalls. They set themselves up for their own failure. Anyone who is evil and does evil things for fun is doing it unto themselves times 5 more than to their victims. It’s best you rethink your goals and aspirations if you are this type of person because most definitely you will succeed in none. You will not gain immortality by your deeds, but you will gain a nice hot lake of fire. It will remove your name from the book of life. Repent and change your ways. Live the word of God.
OOoo OOOoooo 😆 That was a good study. I enjoyed this one. I hit me good.
All the glory goes to God! Amen! 😃🙌🏽
