Paint a Leaf Fall Fun!

Today Jaida and I painted fall leaves we found in the park today. How fun is that!

This is a picture of Jaida's leaves. ⤵

The idea came from Highlights. We logged on to see what was new on the site and they had new hidden pictures. We like to take turns finding the hidden items. In the share section, we found the Paint a Leaf article. You can submit your child's work after they complete the project. These are the steps we took to do this project together.

We first looked at all the projects. My daughter picked Paint a Leaf. We walked to the park and then we chose the leaves we would like to paint on. I explained to her, while hunting, that we had to find flat leaves so that it would make a good canvas. After selecting our leaves, we went home to get ready to paint. We used acrylic paints as suggested. Make sure to explain to dry the brush before using it again to paint. Also, to swirl the brush in the paint before painting. This will keep the paint thick enough to stick to the leaf and the painting be more vivid. After we let them dry and hung them up for decoration.

It was a very fun activity and we think you should try it too. I did not get paid to post about this Highlights activity. I have been a fan of Highlights since I was young. I wanted to share the fun games and activities with my daughter. Please post your pictures and tag us, we would love to see them.

Keep creating and have fun.
